About Us
The administration of the .GT top-level domain name (.GT ccTLD) is the only entity in charge of maintaining the registry of Internet domain names with the country code assigned to Guatemala.
In 1992, the "InterNet Assigned Numbers Authority" (IANA) delegated the administration of the country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) ".gt" to the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (hereinafter UVG).

Social Outreach
In order to promote the use of the Internet in Education and e-Government, as of January 2, 2007, domain names registered under the following subdomains are exempt from the payment of the established fees.
- .edu.gt (Educational Institutions)
- .gob.gt (Government Entities)
- .mil.gt (Military Entities)
You must reliably prove belonging to the corresponding sector. Only ONE domain name per institution will be delegated for free.
